CILTA-VIC PASSENGER TRANSPORT GROUP

MISSION AND ACTIVITIES

PTG MISSION

  • Maximise awareness and membership of and participation in CILTA-Vic Passenger Transport Group (PTG), and conduct PTG’s operations and activities in a vibrant, professional, inclusive and accountable manner
  • Encourage and support better understanding and knowledge of all forms of passenger transport operations by visiting operations (contemporary and heritage), maintaining an awareness of interstate and international developments, facilitating lectures and discussions with transport managers and other experienced passenger transport professionals and academics
  • Conduct workshops, seminars and conferences aimed as appropriate both at the general public, interested parties and professional groups to increase awareness of passenger transport issues, projects and future plans and encouraging awareness of urban and regional land-use and development issues and plans where these are relevant
  • Engage with and influence key planners and decision makers responsible for and influencing the shape, development and operations of the passenger transport system and related land-use patterns
  • Promote informed public understanding and debate by participating in media coverage of passenger transport and related land-use issues, plans, investments and operations

A key focus of the PTG is on operations and management of road and rail transport, both state-of-art and heritage. Membership of the Group and participation in activities is open to the general public as well as to members of CILTA and other professional and industry bodies with an interest in passenger transport. Partners are also welcome.
